I told her to lay it on me. It seems she has the kind of predictive text on her phone that not only guesses the word you're going for once you've finished typing all the letters, but it even guesses what word you want when just the first few letters have been entered -- based on words you've typed previously. Seems handy, no?
Well, actually, no -- not so handy when it leads one to accidentally send wildly inappropriate texts to minors. Weeks ago, when Lisette realized she forgot her pajamas en route to Philadelphia to tag along with Stefanie on her business trip, Stefanie sent her a text declaring "Guess you will have to sleep in your choners!"*
Cut to present day, when Stefanie sent a text to one of the high schoolers she works with at her job that she thought said "See you this afternoon. Remember to bring your form." Yeah. Well, her oh-so-helpful predictive text feature changed this message to, "See you this afternoon. Remember to bring your choners."
PROPRIETY FAIL.
*For those not familiar with this California chola slang term, this story may not make quite enough sense. "Choners" or "chonies" are akin to underpants.
